Milk and Honey

On one of my regular trips to the book store, I came across Milk and Honey. The first few poems gave me the clear impression that this book would be inspirational, but what I didn't know was that it would be life-changing.

Rupi's openness and expression on sexual abuse and self-love was something I craved, and it's like she gave me the keys to a door I didn't know existed. Healing wasn't something I thought I would ever fully achieve because the damage kept showing up in my life in many different ways that I believed I had to live with it.

The magic that these tiny poems carry gave me permission to feel pain and allow myself to mourn and seek healing. Rupi automatically became an inspiration for me, and I'm so thankful for her for sharing her talent with the world and for continuing to share her story through her poetry collections.
